The Castle Gardens
The nine hectares of gardens surrounding the castle are a true landscape artwork, inspired by several styles:
- Italian influence: The terraced staircases and grand perspectives recall the Italian Renaissance gardens. A stone bridge connects the terraces, and the presence of fountains, including one adorned with shells, adds a poetic dimension.
- French style: The French-style gardens, designed around a central axis, are characterized by rigorous symmetry, geometric alleys, and boxwood parterres. These elements express the authority and power of the owners.
- English spirit: By the late 18th century, the northern park was redesigned in a more natural style with sinuous avenues leading to irregularly arranged woodlands and clearings, evoking English romanticism.
