"MEDIEVAL TRAVELERS"
This is the new 2025 thematic event at Saint Mesmin Castle
In the Middle Ages, travelers' tales and the emergence of geographers' maps amplify what are called "itineraries." One travels to trade, pray, conquer, but not yet for leisure! With "Medieval Travelers," a delightful travel journal opens as you navigate through time. "One never goes as far as when one does not know where one is going" so, with map and compass in hand, meet at Saint Mesmin Castle from July 6 to August 29, daily during the summer visit, and have fun following the steps of our actors on surprising paths!
• For an expeditionary journey, Over mountains and valleys, you must take the road!
• For a commercial and spiritual journey, Negotiate, buy, but do not lose your soul!
• For an exotic journey, Set the table for ambassadors!

So at Saint Mesmin Castle during the summer visit, let's welcome "fantastic animals" in their living, tamed or imaginary form!
• In the courtyard, the animal is alive, tamed by the peasant or hunted by the hunter, not turning like a lion in a cage...
• In the lodging, the animal becomes a transformed product, worked on by the craftsman or sold by the merchant, like an actual ant's labor...
• In the chapel, the animal is imaginary, told by the artist or presented by the noble, unfolding, without being as chatty as a sparrow, the multiple facets of medieval art...

Also available at the entrance: The castle grand riddle game "In Search of the Philosopher's Stone" to be shared with family or friends. Like alchemists, you will have to find the ingredients allowing the true recipe of the Elixir of "long life" to save Hugues de Montfaucon, son of the castle lord, from imminent death. A one-hour fun moment for exploring the castle while playing.
