Discovered in 1880 by a young shepherd, it was one of the first major explorations by E.A. Martel, father of speleology. It is captivating due to the incredible diversity of its formations and striking natural colors (it is called the Pink Cave) as well as the size of some of its formations (unique petrified waterfall in the world). With an explored route of over a kilometer, the Dargilan Cave is the largest in the Causses and Cévennes. Between the Millau Viaduct, Tarn Gorges, and Mont Aigoual, the Dargilan Cave also offers a very beautiful panorama of the Jonte Gorges.
