The Story:

Marion Peillareau and Paul Pellissier, a pharmacist-distiller, are your storytellers and take you through 40 years of a bustling Third Republic, a Paris at the height of its development, and rural areas undergoing profound transformation.
A Creuse peasant woman from the 1880s, Marion paints a picture of her life: coming from a modest family, Marion wants her children to receive brilliant education. She will be among the first to leave agricultural work to go "to town," working at Paul Pellissier's distillery amidst men.
Married in love, attentive mother, Marion heard about the lights of Paris from the masons of Creuse who, between two Haussmannian construction campaigns, returned home. But Marion prefers her homeland, her life in Creuse, less bright but more human...
