In 1981, a globally significant event took place in the Gorges of Jonction: for the first time, humanity succeeded in reintroducing a wild animal into its natural environment: the vulture.
The Vulture Belvedere allows visitors to discover this unique reintroduction program through an appealing museography and access to an observation terrace equipped with binoculars. One penetrates into the daily life of the vulture colony via video transmission: three cameras installed on nests, feeding areas, and resting spots transmit images of the environment in which vultures live; these images are projected onto a large screen. An ornithologist comments on these observations. A montage made from the best recorded moments shows exceptional images of vulture life and their relationships with other animals (fox, etc.).
Unlike other zoos, the site offers visitors the chance to discover and observe vultures in total freedom within the majestic and wild setting of the Jonction canyon.
